TF30063: You are not authorized to access asxproject – TFS Online/Visual Studio

Hey everyone,

I ran into the following issue while trying to install the HTML Agility Pack via Nuget today:

TF30063: You are not authorized to access asxproject…

This fixed it for me:
– Go to “Team Explorer”
– Up the very top click on the “Connect to Team Projects” button (power cable looking icon next to the home button)
– Right click on the project and then click connect

Once connected, everything seemed to start working for me again. Check out this stackoverflow post more info: http://stackoverflow.com/a/16700451/522859

Repeat a character x times with c#

Hey everyone,

Just a neat little trick I came across on Stackoverflow, repeating a character x times without using a loop:

string result = new String(‘x’, 5); //xxxxx
string result = new String(‘a’, 3); //aaa

oldIndex must be a valid index in the Children collection (Visual Studio)

Hey everyone,

Just posting this in case anyone else runs into it. After unshelving, the following error kept popping up when I tried to open files using the solution explorer:

oldIndex must be a valid index in the Children collection
Parameter name: oldIndex
Actual value was -1.

I’m still not sure what caused it, but restarting visual studio seems to have fixed it.

ORA-28000: the account is locked – PeopleSoft

Hey everyone,

Just a small PeopleSoft issue I ran into while running an SQR:

(SQR 5528) ORACLE OCISessionBegin(RDBMS) error 28000 in cursor 0:
   ORA-28000: the account is locked
(SQR 4701) Cannot logon to the database.

SQR for PeopleSoft: Program Aborting.

For some reason the sysadm account had been locked, thankfully there’s a fairly easy fix:

1
ALTER USER sysadm ACCOUNT UNLOCK;

If you don’t have access you may need to get a DBA to run it.

View Last Query Executed – Oracle

Hey all,

Just a quick post on how to view recent queries run into an Oracle database:

SELECT sql_text, sql_fulltext
  FROM v$sql
ORDER BY last_load_time DESC

Cheers

Reserved Words – Oracle

Just a quick post on how to check if a word is reserved using the v$reserved_words:

SELECT *
FROM v$reserved_words
WHERE reserved = 'Y'

Alernatively you can specify the word, i.e. to check if online is a reserved word, run the following:

SELECT *
FROM v$reserved_words
WHERE UPPER(keyword) LIKE '%ONLINE%'

Unable to Login to AppDesigner – PeopleSoft

I couldn’t login to Application Designer today for some reason. I kept getting an “Invalid User ID and password for signon.” error despite my credentials being correct.

Invalid User ID and password for signon.

Invalid User ID and password for signon.

It turned out that adding the EOPP_USER and PAPP_USER roles fixed the issue:

1: Navigate to the user’s profile (PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles)
2: Enter the user’s ID and press search
3: Select “Roles” from the top row of tabs
4: Add the “EOPP_USER” and “PAPP_USER” roles
5: Press save

Access Log – PeopleSoft

I came across a requirement today where I needed to find out when a user had last logged into PeopleSoft. The record PSACCESSLOG came in handy here, it stores all of the following:

PSACCESSLOG
OPRID: The users operator ID
LOGIPADDRESS: The users IP address
LOGINDTTM: A timestamp showing when the user logged in
LOGOUTDTTM: A timestamp showing when the user logged out
PT_SIGNON_TYPE: The signon type

Find Last Login Date for User:

SELECT *
FROM PSACCESSLOG
WHERE oprid = '<OPERATOR ID>'
ORDER BY effdt DESC;

Find all logins since 1st March 2012:

SELECT *
FROM PSACCESSLOG
WHERE TO_DATE(CAST(logindttm AS DATE), 'dd/mm/yy') >= TO_DATE('01/03/2012', 'dd/mm/yy');

How to Edit a Message Catalog Definition – PeopleSoft

Editing a message catalog definition in PeopleSoft is pretty straight forward, simply browse to the following menu path:

PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Message Catalog

Enter your message set number into the prompt. Note that if you do not know your message set number you can use the following to find it:

1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
SELECT *
FROM PSMSGCATDEFN
WHERE MESSAGE_SET_NBR = '12345'
      AND MESSAGE_NBR = '12345';

SELECT *
